The Ongoing Why
So much of the work over these decades has unfolded in rather quiet ways. What moved it was often a kind of need to find a different spirit in our ways of seeing the world. Initially, I couldn’t say how it might all unfold. And that could often leave a very unsettling feeling.
Along the way, nothing thunderous or miraculous ever announced itself. Though, in truth, I waited for those miracles to simply arrive. Instead, it was a time of slow accumulations. Things kept happening and layering themselves, one over another in much slower, more erratic ways.
Slowly, what did become clear was that there was a growing need to explore ways of seeing where not everything was always immediately available. The process of building a view rather than simply taking one felt charged with meanings.
in all, this became my hope to restore the depths of seeing in our everday worlds again.
